Welcome to your 22nd century space lounge

What’s up space faces?  I’ve been out for a couple of months on a summer hiatus, but I’m back and I’ve got a sweet little mix for your guys.  In the spirit of the last one, I went with a different genre group this week (downtempo, hip-hop, moombathon) and I’m pleased with how it recorded.  So enjoy the next 40 minutes of throw-back hip-hop tunes, spacey breakbeats, and a junky mess of different beats and aural textures….You have entered the 100 Mile High club.

happy 4/20!

In spirit of the upcoming week, I’m putting together a much more chilled-out version of my normal house and electro posts.  Enjoy the music during any peaceful protests you may participate in this week.

The first part of today’s selection includes a few rap tunes I’m listening to right now, including NWA and a new Beastie Boys single. [Their new album, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2, comes out May 3rd.]  Then some hip-hop and moombahton from Brodonski’s Radio 1 Essential Mix, [if you haven't heard it yet, you're missing out on one sexy piece of Disc Jockery: download it here]  In case you haven’t heard of moombahton yet, there is a NPR report on the new sub-genre.

The next few songs include an electro-pop song from a Romanian singer, a chilled Dubstep song from a producer in Belgium, a chilled Dub song from Jamaica, and finally a rap selection from the year 3000.  happy toking!
